Dzeljo Hodzikj from the Agency for Realization of the Rights of Communities at the panel discussion of CIVIL on “Equality, non-discrimination and multiculturalism in North Macedonia: Situations, challenges and perspectives” spoke about the need for equitable representation in the administration.
Our country needs policies of positive discrimination, but it must not grow into pure discrimination. The right to equitable representation stems from the Framework Agreement, because we have not been able to reach that order for 70 years. But the balancer as a tool is unfortunately an unfortunate tool that discriminates more than it helps. The numbers are improving but there is still work to be done.
We need to find a way to reach a medium term, to get to the point where our administration is fairly represented.
