Strong interest in COVID-19 vaccination has been registered as a total of 400,284 people have been registered on vakcinacija.mk and a total of 220,733 have received a shot in vaccination sites across the country.
On Monday, Health Minister Venko Filipche wrote on Facebook that another 10,530 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have arrived in the country. Of those, 5,850 shots have been provided through direct talks with the company and 4,680 shots through the EU-supported Team Europe program.
“The vaccine rollout program for the Western Balkans is coordinated by Austria,” reiterated Filipche and urged people to register to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as more vaccines have been arriving in North Macedonia recently.
Vaccination sites have been opened across the country, including Skopje, Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip. Bitola, Strumica and Ohrid.
Also, North Macedonia recently has been registering a drop in new infections.
According to the daily statistics released yesterday by the Health Ministry, seven new COVID-19 cases – all in the capital Skopje – were registered after 1,418 tests were conducted. 71 people were registered as having recovered from the virus. Eighteen fatalities, including seven in Skopje, were registered in the past 24 hours, which brought the death toll to 5,329.
At the moment, 2,798 cases are active nationwide, of which 1,129 in Skopje.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 778,092 tests, recording 155,067 COVID-19 cases and 146,940 recoveries.
In the meantime, the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations is also dropping.
