Hate speech on the basis of party affiliation and ethnicity

Yesterday, apart from the fact that the election silence was violated, hate speech also dominated on the social networks.

On Twitter, a photo was posted from a certain profile Sultana, who shared a photo of Prilep Roma, supporters of SDSM candidate for mayor Goran Sugareski with the comment: “How much in euros is this picture worth”. Some of the comments are: “gypsies”, “Gypsy, but the most beautiful”, “I don’t know how much it’s worth, but I do know how much it stinks”, “5 euros per gypsy” …

Below the post there are many comments with hate speech on the basis of ethnicity and party affiliation. These are just some of the comments:

Such posts provoke comments with hate speech and ethic intolerance. Often such insulting content can incite also hate crime, especially if one takes into consideration that VMRO-DPMNE candidate for mayor won in Prilep, and the above-mentioned are supporters of SDSM.

CIVIL calls for calming down of the political thirsts and for no revanchism on any grounds, neither party, nor ethnic ones.
