Two days ago, a fake profile appeared on the social network Facebook with the name and last name of the Mayor of the Municipality of Caska, Goran Stojanovski, through which hate speech was being spread based on ethnicity, probably with the purpose to provoke interethnic intolerance. For that purpose, they abused the tragedy that took place in Bulgaria, in which 45 Macedonian citizens were killed.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Caska, Goran Stojanovski, through his Facebook profile indictaed that the content that was posted today and tonight with insulting text about the accident in Bulgaria is not his and that it is a matter of a fake profile.
“I have submitted a request to the Ministry of Interior to immediately investigate the case, who has done this and who controls the fake profile in Latin letters that is inflicting me harm and is harming my reputation as Mayor of the Municipality of Caska. I also ask the Ministry of Interior and the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office to immediately take action and to find the perpetrator and severely sanction that person”, says Stojanovski.

Such fake profiles have the purpose of destabilizing security, causing religious and ethnic intolerance, disturbing harmony and coexistence.
CIVIL calls on the citizens not to succumb to such provocations, fake profiles and disinformation. In addition, it also calls on the competent bodies, such as the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Sector for Cyber Crime and Digital Forensics at the Ministry of the Interior, to immediately locate the person and sanction the person who abused the identity of the Mayor of the Municipality of Caska, Goran Stojanovski, for spreading hate speech and ethnic intolerance through the social network Facebook.
