At the online event „Give me Five“, organized by GREEN CIVIL, Sadžida Hafizović, Vice President at CENER 21 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented successful examples of their work: from training sessions and manuals for teachers to supporting businesses in resource and waste reuse. Their efforts demonstrate that real progress begins in primary and secondary education, as well as through collaboration between schools, municipalities, and businesses. According to CENER 21, circular economy is not just a theory — it is a practice already being implemented across the region.
„Through our work, we’ve managed to collaborate with key stakeholders to drive environmental protection and develop good practices and models. We’ve established strategic partnerships with international organizations like UNEP, UNIDO, GIZ, the European Union, and others. We closely cooperate with ministries, government agencies, and municipalities to help them develop policies, strategies, and action plans. One of our current successes is supporting the development of the Federal Waste Management Plan — a huge achievement for a small organization“, said Hafizović.
