The mayor of the Greek municipality of Prespes, Panagiotis Paschalidis, announced via Facebook on Monday that Greece’s Niki (Medzitlija) border crossing with North Macedonia the Krystallopigi border crossing with Albania are set to reopen soon, MIA reports from Athens.
“Breaking news: reliable sources say that the Krystallopigi and Niki border crossings will reopen on July 1,” read Paschalidis’ post.
The local population and the business community on both sides of the border recently called on reopening the Niki (Medzitlija) border crossing.
Out of the several land borders between North Macedonia and Greece, only the Evzoni (Bogorodica) border crossing is open for passengers.
In line with the new ministerial decision published on Friday, Greece has extended rules for entering the country until June 26, 2021.
