Greek government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni reiterated on Friday Greece’s support for the region’s European perspective in response to a question from MIA’s Athens correspondent regarding the executive order signed by US President Joe Biden, pointing out that Greece doesn’t belong to the Western Balkans because it is a NATO and EU member.

“Greece strongly supports the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries, certainly in favor of the stability in the region. This issue, as you know, refers to the region’s re-inclusion in the US sanctions system. Therefore, I’d like to remind that Greece doesn’t belong to the Western Balkans, and is a member of the European Union and NATO,” Peloni  told Friday’s press briefing.
