Leaders of the big political parties will speak seven minutes each, while their representative have three minutes, should the leaders be prevented, at the Elections Reforms Conference: Perspectives of the Macedonian Elections, which is organized by CIVIL, on September 25, at Hotel Continental, starting at 12 noon.
In addition to party leaders, or their senior representatives, civil society organizations, relevant institutions, international organizations, embassies, the media and interested citizens have been invited, of which many have already accepted the invitation.
The organizers inform the public that the number of available seats is limited to 120, and because of the great interest it is necessary for those who are interested to announce their participation through an online registration form.
The leaders of the political parties, that is, those who have received an invitation to their address, just need to reply positively to the invitation on the same communication channel, more specifically, they do not have to fill out a registration form.
“We have reason to believe that this truly will be a great event, where we will try to give long-term positive effects that all of us together will try to achieve in this area” – is said by CIVIL’s organization team, and they invite all parties, but also all stakeholders to participate in this Conference, according to the format proposed also in the participation registration form.
At the Conference, discussions will be held on the need of reforms in the overall electoral system, and will more specifically address topics related to the Electoral Code, electoral model, Voters Register, political financing and the media and elections. Participants at the Conference will try to give replies to questions on whether reforms in the electoral process are possible, how and in what time frame. The detailed Programme, along with the list of speakers, will be published on September 18.
The Conference will be opened by German Ambassador Thomas Gerberich.
The event is part of the project “Free citizens for a free society”, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
