The number of participants who have registered for the Elections Reforms Conference “Perspectives of the Macedonian Elections” is growing by the hour, which is organized by CIVIL and will be held in Skopje at Hotel Continental (Crystal Hall), September 25, starting at 12 noon.
The leaders and representatives of almost all parliamentary parties have announced their participation, but also of several non-parliamentary parties, as CIVIL has invited all parties, regardless of whether it concerns a big or small political party, or if it is represented in the current composition of Parliament or not.
Relevant experts and representatives of civil society and of the international community will also be among the attendees.
Due to the great interest and the limited number of seats, participation is possible through the
online participation registration form.
The Conference will address the need of reforms in the overall electoral system, and will more specifically address topics related to the Electoral Code, electoral model, Voters Register, political financing and the media and elections. Participants at the Conference will try to give replies to questions on whether reforms in the electoral process are possible, how and in what time frame. The detailed Programme, along with the list of speakers, will be published on September 18.
The Conference will be opened by the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski and German Ambassador Thomas Gerberich.
The event is part of the project “Free citizens for a free society”, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
