We remain committed to finding a solution and as good neighbors, we are working together committed to the joint European future, the government says after the Sofia Summit, where a delegation led by PM Zoran Zaev participated in the high-level meeting of Western Balkan leaders, held as part of the Berlin Process.
“The successful Berlin Process produces positive momentum encouraging the process. It is pushed forward with the enhanced engagement of Germany’s presidency. After today’s working meetings in Sofia, we remain committed to finding a solution. It is key for both North Macedonia and Bulgaria. They want a solution and so do we. We work together as good neighbors committed to the joint European future,” says the government.
If there is a positive solution, it adds, it will be beneficial for North Macedonia, Bulgaria, for whole of Europe and the Balkan region, too. Otherwise, we will all have a shared failure.
North Macedonia and Bulgaria co-chaired the Berlin Process. PMs Zoran Zaev and Boyko Borissov addresses the Sofia Summit, where German Chancellor delivered an online address.
“The Berlin Process involves reconciliation and we hope the process will continue. In the region, I must say, you have to get along, do not forget, because it is very important,” Chancellor Merkel called on the leaders Zaev and Borissov.
