The Government adopted late Tuesday the report on the need to sign agreement with the GAVI Alliance (Global Alliance for Vaccines) for procurement of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX mechanism to ensure global and equitable access to safe and effective vaccines and to provide a financial guarantee for payment.
“The Government instructed the Minister of Health to sign the agreement without carrying out one of the procedures referring to Article 47 of the Law on Public Procurement, given that this is an international agreement that assumes rights and obligations for our country under the opinion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” Government press service said Wednesday.
