The government on Wednesday authorized Health Minister Venko Filipche to sign a contract for ordering 100,000 vaccines from Russia, and he did, at a closed session, Filipche said, adding that negotiations with Pfizer and Sinopharm would continue during the day.
“The agreement [for the Russian vaccine] is based on the same principle as the other agreements,” the Health Minister said.
It is still unclear when the 100,000 Russian coronavirus shots will arrive, however. According to Filipche, Russian Embassy representatives were trying to find out more specific information as to when the vaccines would be delivered.
“I sincerely hope we’ll have the specific dates in the next few days,” he said in response to a reporter’s question during his visit to Skopje’s Bucharest Polyclinic, which received a donation by Stopanska Banka on Thursday morning.
