The Government and the opposition are on diametrical opposite sides. The Government is organizing a big citizen celebration on the occasion of the invitation for NATO membership and the approximation of the country to EU membership, while VMRO-DPMNE are clearly opposed to the celebration and the integration processes and are demanding amnesty.
“Every citizen of this country, who loves Macedonia and who also wants the name, identity and culture and tradition to be kept, is not up for celebrating at the moment. Only Zaev is up for celebrating, and his criminal cartel who are in power and are delivering the promised invoices and who are getting rich on the account of the citizens”, is said in VMRO-DPMNE’s announcement, in which the party also called for a protest in Kavadarci on July 15.
Ruling SDSM responded: “While Macedonia is celebrating for the historic success, for NATO membership while preserving its Macedonian identity, Mickoski cares only about defending the crime. The fate of Nikola Gruevski is the most important thing for Hristijan Mickoski, even more than the membership in NATO”.
In regards to the amnesty for which Mickoski is constantly talking about, SDSM’s response is that: “Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE should know that there will be no amnesty for anyone, and anyone who has committed any crime will have to be held responsible”.
Even though Mickoski speaks publically that his party does not obstruct the process of electoral reforms and of organizing a referendum, a different conclusion can be made from SDSM’s announcement: “Instead of making up various excuses, VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski have to unblock the forming of the SEC. That is a precondition for holding a referendum, where the citizens will vote for their future. Macedonia is going forward regardless of VMRO-DPMNE’s attempts for destruction. The citizens will not allow Mickoski and the destructive forces to block Macedonia’s future. The citizens say YES for joining NATO and the start of negotiations with the EU, the citizens say YES for the Macedonian future.
