The Government adopted Tuesday the National Employment Strategy 2021-2027 and an Action Plan that aims to cut the unemployment rate to 11 percent.
Considering economic recovery and labor market trends, the Strategy’s implementation is projected in two stages: the first focusing on mitigating the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on employment, while the second on bringing policies closer to the European employment strategy, the Government said in a press release.
According to projections, the employment rate is set to increase to 60 percent by 2027, in parallel with a drop of the unemployment rate to 11 percent. The National Employment Strategy is accompanied by the Youth Guarantee, which implementation is set to be reformulated in 2022 considering the achieved progress, effect of the pandemic on youth employment and adaptations in the EU youth support programme, resulting in significantly higher youth employment, reads the press release.
