German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has congratulated Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrates her platinum jubilee on Sunday, marking 70 years since she took the throne.
“Her reign is unique and inspires people worldwide,” Scholz wrote. He called her a role model in times of change and great challenges, adding,
“You give courage and confidence.” The German leader wished the 95-year-old monarch and her family “all the very best, especially good health.”
Main celebrations for the anniversary are not planned until early June, when Brits are hoping for better weather.
