The answers to the open issues between our two countries are contained in the Friendship Treaty, concurred the prime ministers of North Macedonia and Bulgaria in Monday’s phone call.
“We both said that we need to find solutions as soon as possible that will improve the ties between North Macedonia and Bulgaria and that the past of our two countries holds the basis on which we should be building our joint future in the EU,” Zaev wrote on Facebook.
In the phone call, Zaev thanked Borissov for congratulating him on being re-elected as SDSM leader and wished him success in the coming parliamentary elections in Bulgaria and prosperity of the Bulgarian people.
Bulgarian PM Borissov on Facebook wrote a similar post.
“I spoke on the phone with the prime minister of Republic of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev. I congratulated him on being re-elected as leader of his party and he wished me success in the coming parliamentary elections in Bulgaria. We both agreed that the decisions the two countries should make in the spirit of the Friendship Treaty must not be delayed on behalf of our common history and on behalf of our joint European future,” Borissov said.
