Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani is set to address MEPs on Thursday as part of a debate regarding the European Parliament’s resolution on North Macedonia, MIA reports from Brussels.
Osmani has been invited to take part in a discussion of MEPs who are members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday afternoon, during which EP rapporteur for North Macedonia, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, will present its progress report for the country.
MEPs, who have a few days left to submit amendments to the report, will have the opportunity on Thursday to talk to North Macedonia’s top diplomat two days after Bulgaria vetoed the start of the country’s EU accession talks.
They are expected to pose questions regarding good neighbourly relations, domestic reforms and North Macedonia’s foreign policy.
Kyuchyuk’s draft-resolution, commends North Macedonia’s EU integration efforts, encourages top officials to put in additional efforts in fight against corruption and rule of law and applauds political dialogue between ruling and opposition parties.
