We remain committed to the reform agenda with a focus on the European priorities. We are also continuing activities for enhancement of goodneighborly relations, with a focus on Bulgaria and the implementation of the action plan aimed at intensifying sectoral cooperation and eliminating differences that create political distrust, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani told Czech counterpart Jakub Kulhanek during a video-meeting on Monday.
FM Osmani congratulated colleague Kulhanek on his recent appointment, wishing him success in the post, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Osmani and Kulhanek expect sooner adoption of the negotiating framework and the first intergovernmental conference that marks the formal launch of the accession negotiations in June, during Portugal’s EU Presidency.
Interlocutors expressed satisfaction from the enhanced bilateral cooperation in many fields of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for intensification of economic cooperation.
The two FMs also highlighted the excellent cooperation in the fields of security and defense, seen by the Czech involvement in the protection of North Macedonia’s southern border from illegal migration.
In addition, Osmani thanked Kulhanek for Czech’s support through donations during the COVID-19 pandemic, reads the press release.
