On this occasion, the Youth Education Forum held a workshop titled “In video veritas”, in the building of the Municipality of Veles, and had the purpose of informing young people what disinformation is, how to recognize it, in which way they can inform themselves on how to make a difference between information and disinformation, and to encourage them to think why they are harmful.
“Fake news have risen and gained strength with the previous government. There have always been fake news, but never as much as there were at the beginning of this decade when we were faced with the undemocratic identity of the previous government. The fake news that appeared during this period, that there were clashes with the police at the protests, were suppressed quite quickly. The reason for this is that unlike before, fake news do not dominate in the public discourse anymore”, says for CIVIL Media Vladimir Petrevski from the Macedonian Media Fact-Checking Service.
