The Ministry of Finance is hosting January 31-February 1 a Bulgarian government delegation led by Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer, who alongside Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi will co-chair the first meeting of the joint working group on economy, trade and innovation.
The working group will discuss the opportunities for attraction of investments, innovation opportunities, project financing, increase of bilateral trade exchange, the region’s development priorities, areas of possible joint projects etc, the Ministry of Finance said in a press release. Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi, Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski, Development Bank of North Macedonia director Kire Naumov, Fund for Innovation and Technology Development director Festim Halili, and Foreign Investment Agency director Bekim Etemi will also attend the meeting.
The Bulgarian delegation also includes Deputy Finance Minister Andrei Tsekov and Deputy Agriculture Minister Atanas Dobrev, Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency executive director Boyko Takov, Bulgarian Development Bank director Valentin Mihov, and representatives of other institutions.
The working group, which will meet once a month, was set up at last week’s joint government session in Sofia, focusing on intensifying cooperation in the fields of trade, investments, innovations and finances, joint operations within EU programmes and funds, and cooperation among business chambers.
