Weekly data shows that the R0 virus transmission factor has been dropping but we are cautious because surprises can happen, said Health Minister Venko Filipche on Friday.
Minister Filipche told a forum on the availability of resources to manage the crisis, organized by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation and Civica Mobilitas, it is ungrateful to make predictions.
“If it continues in this way, then yes, it is a trend, but we are cautious because surprises can happen, because the virus does not follow the model of viruses from the same group. First there was a stabilization trend and now a drop, but again, we are cautious considering the period ahead of us,” said Filipche.
He said the rapid tests have slightly altered the whole picture and added that an additional quantity would be distributed.
Crisis Management Center director Stojanche Angelov told the forum that the Main HQ is working in accordance with an action plan that focuses on taking the pressure off the health sector in the country.
According to him, one of the main goals is to raise the public awareness on the observance of the protective measures and recommendations.
He also highlighted the role of the Army as support to the police forces in providing security in the COVID centers.
