The number of new COVID-19 hospital admissions in Skopje and across the country saw a drop over the weekend compared to last week, Health Minister Venko Filipche said Monday.
According to him, although the country is recording such falling trend, authorities remain vigilant and exercise caution.
“There are enough hospital beds available, rotation system is still in place, as well as coordination between institutions in terms of hospital admissions both in Skopje and with other hospitals in the country. So, I believe this trend will continue, but we remain vigilant and exercise caution,” Filipche said.
He noted that today’s number of new coronavirus cases is around 300, pointing out this was expected as fewer tests are always carried out on Sundays.
“Tomorrow will really be an indicator whether this falling trend in terms of new cases over the course of the past week will continue. This is also very important in terms of recommendations for further precautions and in terms of hospital capacity planning,” said Filipche.
