There is no recommendation to mix vaccines, both doses should come from the same manufacturer. This is also recommended by the manufacturers themselves, said Health Minister Venko Filipche on Tuesday.
Minister Filipche said there are still no exact dates over the arrival of the “Sputnik” and “Sinovac” vaccines.
“I talked to the Russian Ambassador yesterday and he is set to contact the Moscow-based institute today and give feedback. According to prior announcements, the Sinovac vaccines were scheduled to arrive in the first ten days of June,” Filipche told reporters.
According to him, the immunization process would not stop, since Pfizer vaccines arrived on Monday, while quantities from Bulgaria and Greece are expected in the course of the week.
The Minister also said the recent COVID-19 cases are not severe.
“The severe cases are those from before. The number of new cases is dropping as is the number of patients treated in hospitals, which indicates that the outbreak is slowing down,” noted Filipche.
