The organization is offering an exclusive opportunity for a limited number of visitors to attend presentations and discussions on extremely hot topics at the seminar “Transparency and responsibility in the political processes”, which will be held on August 14 and 15, at Hotel “Romantique”, on the coast of the Veles Lake. The number of participants is limited, therefore, the organization invites all interested to announce their participation, and reserves the right to select the participants of the event.

The President of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption, Biljana Ivanovska, will be speaking on the topic “The institutions, media and civil sector together against corruption”, on Wednesday, August 14, starting at 3.00 pm. Following Ivanovska’s statement, President of CIVIL, Xhabir Deralla, will have a presentation on examples of abuse of public resources and corruptive behaviour of political parties and their officials. A discussion will follow after these presentations.

The next day, on August 15 (Thursday), starting at 10.30 am, the Mayor of Veles, Ace Kocevski, will speak on the topic “Partnerships between the local self-government and the civil sector in ensuring transparency and responsibility at the local level”.

CIVIL’s exceptionally interesting agenda continues with Branimir Jovanovic from the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, who will be speaking on the topic “Transparency and responsibility in the political processes (political promises/achievements, reforms and responsibility/accountability)”, on Thursday, August 15, at 12.00 noon. After the presentations of Kocevski and Jovanovic, there will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and give comments, lasting half an hour each.

The rest of CIVIL’s seminar in Veles will be dedicated to the strategic planning of the project “Civic Lenses: Transparency and responsibility in the political processes”, financed by National Endowment for Democracy, in which only members of the project implementation team will participate. CIVIL’s team will be available for statements to the local media on all issues of interest to the public, upon previous notice.
