The Government at its session on Tuesday adopted a report on concluded negotiations and signing an agreement with the European Union on North Macedonia’s participation in the Creative Europe 2021-2027 programme.
The Government decided that Ambassador Agneza Rusi Popovska, Head of Mission of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU, signs the agreement. In line with the agreement, the Republic of North Macedonia through the Ministry of Culture will participate in the Creative Europe programme with EUR 1.14 million, allocated over seven years, thus getting access to the budget of the Creative Europe 2021-2021 programme which has a total budget of EUR 2.44 billion, the Government said in a press release.
“The programme recognizes cultural diversity as a top priority in responding to the needs and challenges of the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. The main objectives of the programme are to safeguard, develop and promote cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, and to increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the cultural and creative sectors, in particular the audiovisual sector,” reads the press release.
