Events dedicated to May 9 have marked today’s day, the Day of Victory Over Fascism and Europe Day. However, unfortunately, it is a day of traumatic memories for the citizens of Kumanovo and of entire Macedonia. It is a day when the the 48-hour war broke out in the Kumanovo village of Divo Naselje, a fierce clash with an armed criminal- terrorist group. Eight members of the police lost their lives in this conflict.
Ahead of May 9, 2018, when three years will be marked since the “little war” occurred in Divo Naselje, Kumanovo, CIVIL – Center for Freedom is organizing a panel discussion tomorrow at the Committee, Kumanovo, starting at 1.00 pm. The participants at the event will try to give an answer to these and many other questions related to the events and the court processes on Divo Naselje.
To this day, there are still uncertainties and mysteries surrounding this event regarding questions in terms of the organizers and the motives for this difficult security challenge for the country. Having in consideration that from today’s perspective nothing has been resolved in this regard, it can be concluded that even though we have changed direction, we are still far from accepting the European values that we are celebrating today.
In terms of other events, the court hearings in the Criminal Court are once again in the center of attention. The cases of “Bribery” and “Titanic” are on today’s agenda.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, following today’s hearing on the case “Bribery” in the Criminal Court, where the shortened video recording that was published on YouTube was watched, said that the Court had concluded that the video footage had been interrupted three times. He said that he was glad that the entire process had been exposed, both in the part of the questioning of the witness and in the part of his interrogation as an accused person.
In the “Titanic” case, today, just like yesterday’s hearing in the case “Tank”, the defense requested exemption of Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva. The explanation is just as much legitimate as it is comical…
