EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Olivér Várhelyi, Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn and Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni said that they had positive talks with Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi, stressing that North Macedonia continues to deliver on EU related reforms.
“Good discussion with Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi today. Important that North Macedonia continues to deliver on EU related reforms. Also focused on Economic & Investment Plan for the Western Balkans – its implementation will be key for economic recovery post COVID-19,” Várhelyi wrote on Twitter.
EU Commissioner Hahn wrote on Twitter that he was pleased to meet Fatmir Besimi, Finance Minister of North Macedonia.
“We had a fruitful exchange on post Covid economic recovery and the necessary measures to be taken. EU continues to support North Macedonia and the entire Western Balkans on their reform paths. Focus on rule of law remains key!,” Hahn tweeted.
Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi during his two-day working visit to Brussels held meetings with EU Commissioners, Deputy Director-General in the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, Maciej Popowski and the World Bank officials.
