Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini presented on Friday North Macedonia’s climate ambitions at the virtual roundtable hosted by United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, as part of the climate summit organized by US President Joe Biden.
“The Minister presented to participants from over 20 counties the revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement, which sets the ambition to achieve 51-percent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, i.e. a 82% reduction of net emissions,” the Environment Ministry said in a press release.
Nuredini expressed at the meeting North Macedonia’s ambitions as a small country that’s vulnerable to climate change, stressing the need for support from developed countries in achieving global goals.
