Elementary school science classrooms will be provided with the contemporary teaching aids and lab equipment needed for the successful implementation of the recently proposed elementary education concept, according to the Education Development Bureau.
State university professors will assess what the country’s elementary schools need so they can successfully implement the proposed educational reforms. This was decided at an online meeting on Monday between EDB representatives and professors from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the EDB’s press release says.
“The goal of the proposed concept is to create, through a contemporary elementary education model, future generations of citizens who will make decisions based on critical thinking and analyzing facts.
“The concept is only a framework for the educational model we envision,” the release continues. “After it is adopted, new curricula will be developed in collaboration with experts in the given fields, including natural sciences and mathematics.”
Elementary schools will start receiving the necessary teaching aids and lab equipment in the first half of 2021 as part of a World Bank-financed project for improving the country’s elementary education.
