The Economic Chamber on Monday presented new labels “Macedonian Extra Quality” and “Traditional Macedonian Quality”, introduced upon the request of its members, informs news agency MIA.
The labels, the Chamber said, will have a big influence and contribution to the promotion and added value of Macedonian products and services on foreign, but also domestic markets. To receive the “Macedonian Extra Quality” label, a product or a service has to be of high quality, it has to be produced in North Macedonia with a dominant participation of Macedonian labour and materials of at least 60 percent, with good functionality, usability, modern design and sustainability, but it also must be present on the market for at least a year.
With regards to the “Traditional Macedonian Quality” label, a product has to be made in accordance with a traditional recipe or procedure.
“With these two labels, the chamber offers direct support to domestic manufacturers, thus guaranteeing domestic origin and quality. At the same time, it maintains and increases domestic production by creating a special identity for Macedonian products at foreign and domestic markets. Another aim of the labels is the promotion of Macedonian products and services, as well as Macedonian companies, support of their competitiveness and profitability, but also the promotion of the country abroad, encouraging domestic production, creativity and innovation,” said Chamber vice president Aneta Trajkovska.
The labels are assigned in accordance with strictly determined criteria, rules and procedures, Trajkovska explained, and this process involves experts from various fields.
“We expect the large commercial franchises to join the process as well by promoting the labeled products,” said Trajkovska, adding that the labels can be applied on the packaging, on the company’s web-site and on promotional materials.
