The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development through its Twitter account expressed satisfaction that a pioneering project is being built in the Republic of Northern Macedonia – a huge solar power plant on the site of TPP Oslomej.
– Proud of the pioneering green innovation in Northern Macedonia, where the first large-scale solar power plant in the country replaces the exhausted thermal power plant in Oslomej. The installed capacity of the new solar power plant is 10 MW and prevents more than 12.000 tons of CO2 emissions, the EBRD said.
Last month, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev announced that the first kilowatts of electricity from the 10-megawatt photovoltaic power plant, installed on the surface of the current Oslomej Thermal Power Plant, are expected to leak in the next few months.
The total annual production of this new photovoltaic power plant will be 15-17 gigawatt-hours, sufficient for the needs of about 2.800 households.
The agreements on the one hand were signed by ESM, as a public partner, and on the other hand with “Fortis Energy” from Turkey in one power plant, and on the other with “Solar Pro” from Bulgaria.
The private partners of ESM will pay a fee for the public-private partnership in the amount corresponding to 18% and 18,5% of the produced electricity per hour.
