“We say that every other citizen in the country is poor, and thus give media the opportunity to investigate even more. In fact, our knowledge about poverty comes from the available statistical data that we have. We do not use that data from the Statistical Office as a number, but give essence behind the numbers, we put them in a context, we put a human face next to the number”, said Biljana Dukovska from the Macedonian Anti-Poverty Platform at the marking of the official start of the project “Increasing the use and availability of official statistical data in the Republic of North Macedonia”, on which the State Statistical Office is working with Sweden Statistics.
She emphasized that the poor are people, not statistical data, that they are more than just a number.
