CIVIL’s recommendation is for Northern Macedonia to be one constituency. As an organization, we also note weaknesses in terms of campaign financing, elections, political parties… All over the world, and in our country, there is a hybrid war where millions of dollars are flowing. Institutions must know where the money comes from and how political parties are financed.
The citizen has the right to well-informed choice and respect for the right to vote of the citizens. Citizens should be well informed and not fall for false news and misinformation and black propaganda.
An entirely new election code needs to be drafted. To sew a suit 25 times, what would that suit look like? It is the same with the Electoral Code.
The elections are not for the political parties, but for the citizens. “The parties are at the top of that pyramid, and they should belong to the citizens,” Deralla said.
