At today’s press conference of CIVIL, entitled “Open to all issues”, the President of the Organization, Xhabir Deralla said that the deadline for applying for observers in the next local elections in the country, is extended until July 10th at midnight.
What does short-term election monitoring mean, which is the task of short-term observers, and how CIVIL observers are monitored, Deralla explained in detail to the press “Open to All Issues”.
CIVIL called on its members, supporters and participants in the civic journalism seminars, observers of the previous election processes, as well as all interested adult citizens to apply for short-term election observers.
Shortly afterwards, observer training seminars will be held. In response to the interested parties, the Organization emphasizes that all CIVIL observers are mobile, i.e. that each observer is obliged to cover an average of ten polling stations.
Four of the registered candidates will be selected as long-term mobile observers, who will join the CIVIL permanent monitoring team.
CIVIL monitoring implies mobility, commitment and impartiality. Short-term observers are active during election silence, on election day and one day after voting.
Members of teams of international or domestic observation missions, party officials and activists involved in the election campaign, as well as election candidates, are not eligible to participate in this call.
