At the conference #Perspectives 2019, the President of CIVIL, Xhabir Deralla said that despite the foreign policy, that at home we have little reason to rejoice and commend.
“We had an interesting way of electing the SCPC. Some new modalities in the Law on prevention of corruption. But here I would stop with the compliments, because I think that the law still has serious shortcomings…There is no determination to wipe a corrupt system off the face of the earth, rather cosmetic changes are being made. This is the cruel reality that gives us space to doubt that all the negative trends and processes that we are seeing in society are actually either deliberately tolerated, or even generated in the centers of power”, said Deralla.
As for the concept “One society for all”, Deralla considers that exactly this concept can pull Macedonia to the top in the region, as an example of how one society should function, but also that the capacities of those who need to implement these concepts are not at the most enviable level.
“After all, we saw how this concept functions during the Colorful Revolution and many other protests in these past years. We cannot accept to have concepts that turn us back, while previously having had excellent experiences in that sense”, said Deralla.
He highlighted the work of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy as one of the brightest points in domestic policies. “Every good example shows that it can be done, but isn’t done”, concluded Deralla.
At the conference #Perspectives 2019 introductory speeches were given by German Ambassador Thomas Gerberich, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mila Carovska, Prof. Mirjana Najcevska, Dzevdet Hajredini (former Finance Minister), Aleksandar Krzalovski (MCIC), Mersiha Smailovic (Legis), Koco Andonovski (LGBTI Support Center) and Faton Aliti.
