Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi expects the year-over-year (YoY) inflation to stand at 10-11 percent by the end of 2022, news agency MIA informs.
Deputy PM Bytyqi told Telma TV that the crisis period, even recession, is not the worst thing that can happen, saying it is important that decisions made by all stakeholders have an impact.
“We have dealt with worse situations, we can handle a recession as well. We have shown that the economy is flexible enough to cope with all of this if the Government is a good partner, which it is. Therefore, I do not fear a possible recession,” notes Bytyqi.
He adds the objective is to reduce the pressure so that the inflation does not reach unsustainable levels.
“If we stick to the projections, which I believe will be 10-11 percent YoY, I believe we can cover the coming period. Everything over 20 percent is unreasonable,” says Bytyqi
