Ivanovska: Judges and public prosecutors part of the Annual plan for monitoring assets and conflict of interests for 2020

The preparation of the National Strategy based on risk analysis is in progress. According to the determined risks in the analysis, the judiciary has been assessed as a pillar with high risk of corruption and other influences, hence holders of positions in this pillar (judges and public prosecutors) will be part of the Annual plan for monitoring assets and conflict of interests for 2020.

This is the reply of the President of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption, Biljana Ivanovska, to MIA’s question today about the call that President of SDSM Zoran Zaev made yesterday at the debate “On the right path” in Skopje for the SCPC to open procedures for checking the assets of judges and prosecutors, and for the Public Revenue Office, the Cadastre, Central Registry, MOI and the Financial Police Office to start checking as of this month the assets of judges, prosecutors and members of their families.

Sead Kocan doesn’t remember donating for VMRO-DPMNE’s campaign

At today’s hearing on the “Titanic” case for election irregularities, witnesses were questioned in regards to whether they had donated funds and services for VMRO-DPMNE’s political campaign in 2011 and how.

On the proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office, Sead Kocan was questioned as the first witness, who in 2011 was manager of “Transmet”, who said that he doesn’t remember, but thinks that he has never personally donated funds to any party, thus not even to VMRO-DPMNE.

Asked whether the company “Transmet”, where he was the manager, had been donating to VMRO-DPMNE, Kocan said that the firm had never donated funds to that political party.

Zaev: There are no reasons for postponing the elections, Spasovski and Carovska possible Technical Prime Ministers

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev today announced that there are no reasons, nor need, for postponing the early parliamentary elections that are scheduled for April 12 next year. He says that soon the composition of the technical government will be known, which should be formed 100 days before elections, and as possible candidates for technical prime ministers he mentioned current Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mila Carovska, whose names have been mentioned in the public recently.

He repeated that the Spanish government is expected to be formed by the beginning of January and for the country to ratify the NATO Accession Protocol for our membership, so that this parliamentary composition can ratify it before our Parliament dissolves. Also, Zaev said that there is still the possibility for a conditional ratification that would be made before Spain ratifies the Protocol, and would enter into force after Spain’s ratification.

FLASH NEWS

This was stated by Minister of Finance Nina Angelovska starting the elaboration of the amended draft budget for 2020 before the MPs.

OPINION

Pendarovski walking on “thin ice”

“The President, regardless that he has been elected on the “ticket” of the current government coalition, is not in the Cabinet to represent (only) their political platforms. Especially nota bene and sotto voce, for dramatic effect! – of SDSM. Thanks for asking, Pendarovski is aware with which political structure, historically, he’s dealing with. And all of that is nice and for admiration, as long as it doesn’t get exaggerated”, writes Saso Ordanoski.

There are and will be questions!

“I would like to remind everyone. For three years now we have been living in a different country, which is not captured by a handful of criminals. To me, no one is untouchable. The facts and public interest are at the top of the priorities in our activity and it is our duty to protect them. There are and will be questions. And there will also be demands for responsibility. Some think they can be protected as white bears. Not while I’m alive”, writes Xhabir Deralla.
