We continue to support North Macedonia in detecting, preventing and liquidating drug trafficking organizations, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has told MIA.
DEA confirmed that agency officers are involved in the investigation of the Ministry of Interior and the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption over last week’s seizure of 200kg of marijuana with a market value of almost US$ 1 million.
DEA did not want to comment on the ongoing investigation and the suspects involved in the unlawful production and distribution of narcotics.
Last Friday, police teams intercepted an “Audi A8” at the Prilep-Rosoman road, driven by a senior police officer from Prilep and another person. Afterwards, the police also stopped a “Dacia Duster”, including two more individuals and a cargo vehicle that transported the marijuana, packed in 40 cardboard boxes.
