Day 103: Mounting troops and weaponry, heavy fighting continues along the 1,000 km frontline

It is the 103rd day of the Russian full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The one thousand kilometers long eastern frontline in Ukraine is on fire. Heavy fighting continues in the Severodonetsk area.

“Ukrainian forces are exposed to enemy mortar and artillery fire. Civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Metolkino, Borivske, Ustynivka, Toshkivka, and other settlements is also affected. The occupiers continue to storm Severodonetsk” – the Ukrainian military source reports.

Russian military losses

Seven Russian attacks were repelled by the Ukraine’s defenders in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine over the last 24 hours. Russians lost 4 tanks, 3 artillery systems, 8 armored fighting vehicles, and 3 other vehicles, one attack helicopter Ka-52 and one UAV according to Ukraine’s military sources. Border areas: Mounting troops and heavy weaponry in Belarus and Russia

Russians are mounting heavy weaponry in Belarus north of the axis between Volyn oblast and Polissya, Ukraine Armed Forces reported early morning on June 6. There is a continued presence of Russian troops, equipped with Iskander-M, Pantsir-C1, and S-400 systems, as well as operational and tactical aviation.

Similar reports are coming from the Russian territory, more precisely, the axis between Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. Ukraine’s forces report on shelling from the Russian territory into the areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts of Ukraine.

Russian offensive in Slovyansk

The Russian forces conduct a severe offensive in the Slovyansk area. Using artillery of various calibers, Russians are targeting civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillya, Dibrivne, Nova Dmytrivka, and Kurulka, the Ukraine’s armed forces report states. During the last 24 hours (6 am on June 5 until 6 am on June 6) Russians conducted multiple missile attacks in the areas of Slovyansk, Lysychansk, and Orikhovo.

Artillery barrages in Luhansk region

In the east, Russians keep pounding the Ukraine defense positions in Slobozhanschyna area in the Luhansk region with artillery, MLRS, mortars and tanks. According to the reports, Russian engineering units are making efforts to rebuild transport infrastructure and plant new pontoon-railroad bridges in the occupied areas.

Heavy fighting in the region of Kharkiv, Russian offensive in Lyman, Svyatogorsk, Bakhmut

Heavy fighting continues in the Kharkiv region. Russian forces are making efforts to keep their positions against the counter-offensive of the Ukraine’s defense forces. There is an intensive artillery and mortar shelling on the Ukraine military forces, as well as on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Bazylivka, Kutuzivka, and Petrivske.

The Russian troops are in an offensive in the Lyman region.

“With support of the artillery, Russians are conducting offensive operations in the vicinities of Svyatogorsk. Moreover, assault operations are ongoing in the areas around Schyrove and Staryi Karavan. Fighting continues” – Ukraine’s military source reports.

In the Bakhmut region, Russian forces shelled Ukrainian positions with mortars, tube and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Zolote, Orikhove, Gorske, Vrubivka, Klinove, Belogorivka, Pokrovske, and Rota. In addition, aggressors used assault warplanes and helicopters to conduct air strikes against Bakhmut and Berestov.

Ukrainians repelled attacks in several areas

The occupiers attempted to assault Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Komyshuvakha, Berestov, and Mykolayivka.

“All attacks failed, Russian forces sustained heavy losses and retreated” – Ukraine Armed Forces claim.

The areas of Avdiyivsky, Kurakhivsky, Novopavlovsky and Zaporizhzhya were relatively quiet in the last 24 hours.

Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure in the Novobakhmutivka, Kamyanka, Avdiivka, Mykilsky, ZolotaNiva, and Poltavka districts. In the Pivdennyi Buh area aggressors’ artillery targeted the settlements of Tavriyske, Nova Zorya, StepovaDolina, Novomykolayivka, and Kobzartsy.
