NEWS OF THE DAY Biden adopts executive order: Non-compliance to agreements such as the Prespa agreement bring destabilization
The Prespa Agreement with Greece and the Ohrid Framework Agreement have found themselves on the US list of key agreements from the region, which if not complied to and implemented can lead to destabilization. This became clear after US President Joe Biden signed a new decree that suspends entry into the US for all persons from the Western Balkans who will not respect these agreements, and at the same time will block their property on the territory of the country.
As responsible are considered those who have violated the agreements for regional security and peace, such as the Prespa Agreement, Ohrid Framework Agreement, Resolution 1244 of the Dayton Accord.
VMRO-DPMNE and Levica remain against the Prespa Agreement despite the executive order of US President Joe Biden, which threatens suspending entry and blocking of property of all those against the Agreement with Greece and other important agreements for stabilization of the Balkans concluded in the past two and a half decades. The two parties expressly turned their backs on the country’s strategic partner, through the statements of the official of the biggest opposition party, Antonio Miloshoski and the head of Levica, Dimitar Apasiev.

Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic today stated that the parties are close to an agreement on the implementation of the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations in the Electoral Code, but that now the more difficult part remains, and that being the final agreement on the very election model. He stressed that for any such changes to the election rules, a consensus needs to be reached and a consent by the relevant political parties, which will be good for the country, for mutual trust, and which have been given to us as a recommendation by the Venice Commission.

“US President Joe Biden with his decree, executive order, practically gave a red card to all criminals, corrupt politicians, political parties that are nationalist, extremist, radical structures that are in the Western Balkans, and hence also in North Macedonia that are instigators and structures that promote hate speech and denying of key important international documents such as the Prespa Agreement, the Ohrid Framework Agreement, the Dayton Accord in Bosnia and Herzegovina and some other agreements that are indicated in the executive order of the US President, where according to that order, their property is blocked and entry is prohibited of politicians who oppose or destabilize these agreements or destabilize their countries and the region overall’, stated Xhabir Deralla live.
