NEWS OF THE DAY: Zaharieva: Bulgaria, in this phase, cannot approve the negotiating framework for Republic of North Macedonia
Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva confirmed that Bulgaria did not approve the negotiating framework for Macedonia at today’s meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union. In order for the EU accession negotiations to start, all 27 states must agree on the content of the negotiating framework, reports SDK.
Zaharieva, at a briefing with Bulgarian journalists following the video conference with her EU counterparts, said that Bulgaria did not approve the framework for Macedonia, as it does not reflect the Bulgarian demands, including those regarding the Macedonian language and Macedonian minority.
