NEWS OF THE DAY: Ministry of Education and Science: We are not cancelling a single scientific discipline, students need to acquire knowledge and learn to think
The reforms that are being prepared in the primary education do not imply cancelling of any scientific discipline. On the contrary, they improve the concept according to which students will be studying all subjects, stated the Ministry of Education and Science.
The new primary education will give students a complete picture on a certain event or topic, points out the Ministry of Education and Science, which is achieved with an interdisciplinary and integrated approach, that is, connecting information from several subjects.
“Such an approach enables students to more easily connect the curricula to the reality and to see the sense of what is being learned. The Ministry of Education and Science has based these reforms on contemporary concepts and approaches, with the purpose for students to gain knowledge from all areas – history, geography or content form other scientific discipline. However, it will be in a manner that is adapted to their age, a manner that breaks the strict boundaries between the disciplines and presents the world, processes and events in their connection and unity”, informs the Ministry.
