NEWS OF THE DAY: Maricic: To use the positive assessment in the EU Report as motivation to do even more
Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic at today’s press conference stated that the latest Report of the European Commission on the progress made by the Republic of North Macedonia is the strongest evidence of the government’s dedication to transform the state and to provide equal access to justice, equal opportunities for all and equality before the law.
“In the report, they have given us recognition for the good progress of the reforms in the judiciary as well as in the fight against corruption. At the same time, it is also concluded that the legal framework for protection of human rights in the most part is harmonized with the European standards. Our country’s efforts have increased and there are visible results both in the judiciary and in the fight against corruption and organized crime”, said Maricic.

The government has submitted to Parliament a draft law on the census, in an identical form as it was in the parliamentary procedure in the previous parliamentary composition. Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic expects the opposition to also give support for the law and for it to be timely adopted in order for the census to be carried out in April next year.
