NEWS OF THE DAY Zaev demands Paunovski to be dismissed for his public defiance against his superiors
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev announced that, although Director of the State Market Inspectorate Stojko Paunovski is his personal and exceptionally good friend, he will request from the government services for him to be dismissed. He considers that there are grounds for this and expects a procedure to be initiated.
“It’s unacceptable for someone to be leading polemics every day with the Vice-President of the Government, and now with the Prime Minister. That is defiance that is not allowed. There is a hierarchy in the government, and it is known how it should function”, says Zaev.

“We condemn the unfortunate isolated events on ethnic and any other base. The government policies for an equal society of equal citizens have shown to be successful and this reflects on the relations between all communities in the country, in the direction of building a cohesive society for all citizens integrated in NATO and the EU. Regarding the isolated incidents, we call on the MOI and the Public Prosecutor’s Office to clear up the case. For the specific case, we will contact and speak to the Mayor of the Municipality of Kocani and the community local leaders in order to contribute to the full respect of the rights of all citizens in the country and to put an end to the discrimination on all grounds”, replied the cabinet of the Minister of Political System and Relations Between Communities, Artan Grubi to CIVIL’s several questions related to the ethnically motivated incidents in Kocani, where the Roma community is the target of radical structures.
