NEWS OF THE DAY: Parliamentary group for rights of persons with disabilities has been formed

Respecting and promoting rights of persons with disabilities and removing all barriers in order to enable their inclusion in social and political life, raising public awareness on this issue, initiating legal solutions that will enable this, are some of the issues on which the Inter-Party Parliamentary Group (IPPG) will work on, which was formed today within this parliament composition.

Parliament President Talat Xhaferi, while addressing the meeting on the formation of this group, outlined that all legislative solutions that are being adopted should ease the lives of these people, enable equal treatment, access and opportunities for every citizen, regardless of their ethnic, religious, gender, social and cultural affiliation, and certainly, in no case should depend on their physical ability or inability.

-I believe that the most difficult to overcome barriers are exactly the ones we raise in our consciousness, with our way of thinking and way of acting. Our legal, moral and ethical obligation is to work in the direction of reducing those barriers, to commit to the promotion and protection of human rights and prevention against discrimination on any grounds, and this should be our guide in every step taken for changing, amending, adjusting the effective laws in our country, said Xhaferi.

February 2nd – another excuse for spreading hate speech

February 2nd, as a date that is associated with homosexuals, is actually a homophobic and fictional date. International Pride Day is June 27, but for many February 2nd has always been considered a day of homosexuals, but also an occasion for all kinds of jokes, witticisms, but most of all, hate speech against the LGBTI+ people.

Namely, February 2nd is considered a holiday of homosexuals only in our country and in the immediate neighbourhood, while May 17 is celebrated every year as International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDHT).

February 2 – Day of candles, water habitats, ukulele….

February 2nd perhaps in our and neighbouring countries is “observed” as a day of the homosexuals, but this day around the world is observed as Day of candles, water habitats, ukulele

FLASH NEWS

The Ministry of Justice, after collecting all necessary documents within the anticipated deadline, will submit to the Bulgarian authorities a request for extraditing Igor Spasov back to the country, says the ministry for CIVIL Media.

VMRO-DPMNE is not backing down from collecting signatures for revoking the adopted Law on Census. Yesterday, at a session of the Executive Committee, a decision had been made for the Initiative for collecting signatures to start tomorrow. The Basic Criminal Court Skopje in 2020 exceeded the inflow of cases and reduced the build-up of unresolved cases, which is an indicator of the diligence of the court, said the President of the Court, Ivan Dzolev, at today’s briefing with representatives of the media and non-governmental organizations.

“The census of the population, households and dwellings that will be conducted in April 2021 will give all the necessary responses in terms of providing quality statistical data that are key for building strategies and policies and for successful and foreseeable development of the state”, announced the government service.

The Platform for gender equality is organizing a protest march, where the demands will be announced to the institutions for thorough clearing up of the “Public room” case and for a comprehensive approach in the country’s dealing with gender-based violence , which in various forms is widely spread and rooted in our society.

State public prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski in an interview for “Deutsche Welle” regarding the “Public room” case said that changes and amendments to the Criminal Code are needed, with the announced criminal acts “stalking” and “sexual harassment”, in order to follow the modern changes.
