NEWS OF THE DAY: Today is International Children’s Day
Every year, Children’s Day is celebrated in various countries across the world and on different dates. And even though not all countries celebrate it on the same date, there is a universal Children’s Day set on November 20 every year, since 1954, by the United Nations General Assembly. This is not just a day for celebrating children as they are, but for introducing children to the rights they have as well as children across the world who have suffered violence in the forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
CIVIL as an organization for human rights and freedoms, since its establishment and until today has been strongly and actively committed to promoting and advocating for the rights of every child.
STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Bosanac: The Croatian voters did not succumb to the black campaign
CIVIL MEDIA conducted an interview with Gordan Bosanac from the Croatian political platform “We Can”, which marked huge success at the local elections, by winning absolute majority in Zagreb and winning in Split and Pazin (Istra). Bosanac, among else, stated:
“The campaign, particularly in the second round, was incredibly dirty. I had hoped that after Bexit took place, after Trump, that we had learned something about how campaigns are regulated, especially on the internet media. At the end, we could see that none of that is regulated and that it’s a space that the rival team, unfortunately, can use to disparage and spread completely false information about all of us, about the candidates”.
CIVIL live is a video content that goes on Facebook during the weekdays in the early afternoon hours. The edited version is published on YouTube and in CIVIL’s daily brief of events at 5.00 pm. In today’s edition, you can hear about the election success of the Croatian political platform “We Can” with an announcement for the interview with Bogdan Bosanec, fighter for human rights and freedoms from the Republic of Croatia, about “Can we Together?”, a public event of CIVIL that will be held tomorrow, and the analysis of Aleksandar Nikolic Pisarev “Shadows from the past”.
