NEWS OF THE DAY: Agreement reached between government and Union of High School Students
Two external exams, the third to be transformed into an internal exam, establishment of a working group between the Bureau for Development of Education under the competency of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Union of High School Students, which will be deciding on shortening the program for external exams, the state matura to start one week later, that is, instead of May 29, as anticipated, to start on June 5, are part of the solutions for which the government and the Union of High School Students have agreed.
The working group will be composed of representatives of the Bureau and the Union of High School Students and teachers nominated by the Union of High School Students. It will be chaired by a representative of the Prime Minister Office, while the entire process should finish by mid-March.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev today in a statement for the media, following the meeting with representatives of the Union of High School Students, said that a quality compromise solution has been found through dialogue, which guarantees quality of the end exam that enables every student to be able to enrol in faculty here in our country and abroad.
– Adjustment to the concept of the state matura had to be made, due to the impact of the pandemic on the education process and based on joint exchange of arguments, and everything that is in their favour is acceptable for us. We needed to meet their needs and to find the best possible solution, said Zaev, adding that it was necessary for the state matura to undergo changes.

Education -Grubi, Carovska and Ademi have agreed that Article 26 paragraph 2 of the Law on Textbooks will apply to the geography textbook for the second year of high school, as well as to other textbooks.
