Daily Brief: Decision on abolition postponed, blockade from Bulgaria, SCPC opens debate for misdemeanour provisions

Constitutional Court postpones deciding on disputed article of Pardon Law

NEWS OF THE DAY: The abolition is not only contrary to the law, but also to morality

The Constitutional Judges have postponed yesterday’s assessment of the constitutionality of Article 1 of the Law on Pardoning, which was supposed to clarify whether former President Gjorgje Ivanov could withdraw the abolition.

As TV 24 reported, Judge Osman Kadriu has proposed for the decision-making to be postponed, as there are key differences between the proposals of Judge Darko Kostadinovski, who is now rapporteur for this initiative, and the proposal of Judge Vladimir Stojanovski, who this case was given to last year, but his term ended.

According to Kadriu, Stojanovski’s proposal then was to cancel or terminate disputed Article 11-a, and now Kostadinovski’s proposal is to stop the procedure for this decision. According to him, these are completely opposed proposals and therefore this issue should not be immediately decided upon, but rather should be discussed all over again.

People of Tetovo with double grief for Vienna and a recommendation: “We all need to be careful, especially you the journalists”

Peaceful, but terrifying. Great revolt, street gossips, but no one dares to speak publically. The people of Tetovo experience the terrorist attack in Vienna twice as tragically. On the one hand, among them, everyone expresses in their own way the pain and grief for the lives that have beenlost, and on the other hand is the concern that one of the attackers is with origins in Tetovo, an Albanian and Muslim, like the majority of the citizens of Tetovo.

Whom do (will) ethnic tensions benefit at this moment?

While MPs in Parliament are debating on the proposal for Dobrila Kacarska to be elected Constitutional Court Judge, some of the media have published that the Supreme Court has overturned the verdict for the murder of Angel Petkovski on September 30, by a five-member council. The news was announced by Telma TV, referring to court sources.
