NEWS OF THE DAY: Debate on the budget amendments – We will accept every feasible and realistic project, says Deputy Minister of Finance
Starting from today, the submitted amendments to the 2021 Budget Proposal are being debated in Parliament. The amendments are being considered within the debate of the Committee on Finance and Budget, with most of them having been submitted by the opposition party of VMRO-DPMNE.
A total of 528 amendments to the draft text have been submitted, mostly from VMRO-DPMNE – 390, and the rest from the Alliance of Albanians and Alternativa.
Deputy Minister of Finance Dimitar Kovacevski in an interview for MIA, published this weekend, indicated that the amendments are being reviewed in the Ministry of Finance and that they will try to find funds for every proposal that is good, feasible and realistic and for it to be accepted.
- There are many amendments, mostly in the area of transport and communications, local infrastructure, water supply and similar. The team in the Ministry of Finance is with great attention reviewing all of them and we are expecting the debate on the amendments. I can say that we will try to find funds and accept every proposal that is good, and at the same time feasible, elaborated, realistic, which is for the good of the citizens. The Parliament should be a place where ideas should be debated on how to make citizens’ lives better, said Kovacevski.

Next stop is Europe, CIVIL launches Freedom Festival
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, December 10, CIVIL is organizing the multimedia Freedom Festival, which this year is under the slogan “Next stop: Europe”. The festival starts on December 1, with two panel discussions, with a central multimedia event that will be held on Thursday, December 10, International Human Rights Day.
The festival will include numerous participants who will speak at several panel discussions and conferences. Some of the topics are: electoral reforms and the voting right, the pandemic and infodemic, social justice and discrimination, as well as many other topics in the area of human rights and freedoms. Experts, civic activists, senior government representatives, media and other representatives have all be invited to the panel discussions and conferences.

The Freedom Festival organized by CIVIL, on the occasion of International Human Rights day, is organizing a panel discussion titled “Pandemic and Infodemic” on December 1, starting at 3.00pm at Hotel Park Residence, Skopje.
The panel discussion includes the following speakers: Jasna Bacovska, university professor, Elida Zulbeari, editor of Portlab, Filip Stojanovski from Metamorphosis, Flaka Polozani, special advisor for media and broadcasting within MISA and Petrit Saracini, media expert and member of CIVIL. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dehran Muratov.

The Freedom Festival organized by CIVIL, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, kicks off with a panel discussion titled “Electoral Reforms: Wishes as opposed to reality”, on December 1, starting at 12.00 noon at Hotel Park Residence, Skopje.
Oliver Derkoski, President of the SEC, Katica Nikolovska, member of the SCPC, Radmila Lazareska Gerovska from the Ministry of Justice and Blagica Dimitrovska, President of the association Inkluziva will participate in the panel discussion as speakers.
