Czech entrepreneurs see North Macedonia as a prospective partner and future EU member. The Chambers of Commerce (SSK) and the Czech Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding, in order to ensure a proper framework for strengthening and intensification of cooperation.
“It seems the biggest potential for future cooperation lies in the sectors of transport infrastructure and all segments of the energy industry, including renewable energy sources. I also see big potential in the area of geological research, environment-friendly technologies and water management. Czech companies can also offer top-quality medical equipment. Last but not least, the Czech Republic can provide various technologies for development of smart and sustainable cities,” said Czech Deputy Ministry of Industry and Trade Eduard Muřický.
Jiří Hansl of the Czech Chamber of Commerce also expressed assurance the forum would lead to new opportunities for companies from both countries.
“Czech Republic supports North Macedonia’s EU accession. Macedonian and Czech companies will benefit from the opportunities offered by the EU and its single market of 500 million consumers. I believe this business mission will open new opportunities for companies from both countries, primarily in the sectors of transport, infrastructure, energy and health,” said Hansl.
SSK and the Czech Embassy organized the business forum.
